Seperation Anxiety

John didn't have to spend the whole night in emergency after all. They moved him from the tiny room that he was in to another tiny room just after he fell asleep... Of course. Then they moved him up to a temporary room on unit 6000 just after he fell asleep... Of course. They will move him again probably after the weekend to unit 6100 where THE TEAM works. Maybe they will move him tonight as soon as he falls asleep. The whole team had to jog on down to see him this morning so we got to see everybody again. Dr. M. was not there today but they introduced us to a new member...Dr. I. Very handsome!!

They didn't get the pic line put in today so they will probably do it this weekend sometime. John's cold/flu is much better today... Almost back to normal. He was trying to race me in his wheelchair out in the parking lot as I was leaving to go home. That was the only time he sat in the chair as he walked all the way down to the parking lot and again all the way back up to his room. Dr. V. wants him to get as much exercise as he can. He has to wear a mask outside of his room and he can't have any visitors who are sick. They don't want anything to mess with the chemo which they plan to start early next week.

He went for full body x-rays today as well as an echo of his heart. We are not really sure what that is about but I think they just want to make sure everything is good. The chemo is hard on the kidneys, liver and heart so I guess they don't want any hidden surprises

Supper was a real adventure this evening. If you are in the hospital do not ever order the salsbarry (sorry about the spelling sure hope you know what I'm talking about cause you don't want to go there!) steak (gimungous meatballs with gravy). I'm sure if we would have rinsed them of we could have played basketball with them!! I kid you not!! For true!! They brought him double servings of this. LOL. Four weeks of this is going to be hard. He already misses my cooking. This does not say much about my cooking but really says something about theirs. He said my worst meal that I ever cooked did not come close to being as awful as that meatball thing.

Please pray for me as I have trouble leaving John behind at the hospital. I told him that it was worse than leaving Roscoe at the dog kennel. I was trying to make light at going home without him but every time I drive away I have to fight hard not to cry.

I will pray that God will walk with you every evening when you leave the hospital. The wonderful thing about our God is that He can be with you as you leave and also with John as you leave. Love to all of you.

It is nice to hear that John is feeling better. We are always thinking and missing you back in SK.

You are always in our prayers, and I hope the month's hospital stay feels more like a week. Although with the rotten tasting hospital food, it could feel like a lot longer.
