Yesterday it looked like Johns white cell counts were coming up (1.2) and I expected that by today they would have gone higher. That was a wrong guess. The counts actually went down again (.20) For those who don't know what the numbers mean, that means that John still does not have a functioning immune system at this time. When I went home last night he had only a low grade fever. This had been going on for a day and a half and he seemed to be holding on well without the help of antibiotics. Last night unknown to me (nobody seemed to think it was a good idea to phone me) John spiked a temp. of 39. Scorching hot! This morning they do have the fever under control, have sent him for an X-ray of his chest (he says he has no symptoms in his chest) and have put him on antibiotics. I'm packing up some stuff and am going to stay the night so that I can keep my eye on him.
Please pray: His kidneys do not like it when he gets a fever and nor do I. High fevers freak out the nurses as well! It is just all around stressful.

I just read the previous post, and was glad to see he had been doing so well.
So sorry to hear that he spiked a fever. Prayers are being said constantly for you all. Huge hugs to you all, I am sure this is a stressful time. Wish there was more I could do, than just post comments.
As Carol said, prayers are being constantly said on your behalf...all of you.
Thanks for the update. Just wish there was more we could do. Is John's number there the same as before??
Just the same here. I hope that his fever gets better, and that it doesn't get any worse. Always thinking of you guys. I don't know what, but if I can do something, let me know.
As you can tell, we all are feeling quite helpless being so far away. Our Lord and Saviour, though, is close by and we lift you up to Him who can do more than we even know we need. We love you and will continue to pray.
