The chemo was finished yesterday around 1:00 p.m. John was so happy because he thought that he would get rid of the machine that he is attached to. Well... not! His hemoglobin and platelets had took a nose dive so they needed to transfuse. They wanted to continue the lactose I.V. with anti viral and anti bacterial solutions as well. The continual pumping of fluids into his system has made him quite puffy. This causes him to be short of breath. The anti puff meds they give him can hardly keep up. He gets tired of going to the bathroom every 15 minutes. We hope that this will get better today as he will be down to one I.V.
John is having quite a lot of pain in his chest. They figure that it is from pumping in the platelets. Those went in at a much faster rate than the chemo. When they decided to slow that down it was too late. He says that it is a bit better this morning. He has a lot of pain in his back. We are not sure what this is from. He is nauseated this morning, was nauseated last night and did not sleep well. I hope they can stay on top of that. Please pray that he can get some sleep today.
He is feeling quite grumpy. He is not allowed out of his room during the day. He can walk around the ward or go to the family room when all the visitors have gone home. He doesn't feel like it anyway. He doesn't feel like having company yet he is very board, going stir crazy and sick of everything. I can hardly blame him.
I am staying home today as I am feeling under the weather myself. It is due to my sinus problems. I have an appointment with the specialist tomorrow. I sure hope that they can get this fixed. It would be so nice to feel healthy ALL the time and not just when my sinus decide to have a good day!

Awe. I wish I could come and sit there with him. Maybe bring him a DVD player and some movies. Poor Dad. I hate this.
Does anyyone have a portable DVD player he can borrow?
If there is anything you need done ie. house cleaning, yard work etc please don't hesitate to call. REALLY!!!
Love & Prayers
My heart goes out to you both. I pray that John will be able to tolerate the chemo without too many side effects and that the specialist will find what is wrong with your sinuses and fix the problem soon.
Continuing to pray for all the needs you have listed. Wish we could do more. Our hearts go out to you all.
Glad to hear that the chemo is done. Sorry to hear that he is feeling bloated, and grumpy. I would be a bit grumpy too, if all I did was run to the toilet every 15 mins or so. *huge hugs to you all. Sending prayers too.
